The procedure of getting a Quality Certification/Standard Mark License is regulated by the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI). The procedure is as follows:
Step 1: Collect the application form from the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI).
Step 2: Submit the Application with supporting documents. (Fees: New Application- BDT 50 & Renewals- BDT 25).
Step 3: Inspection of the laboratory facilities, health and hygienic condition of the factory premise, and quality of the product, packaging, filling, storing, transporting, etc.
Step 4: Testing from a random sample of the product. The test is conducted in compliance with Bangladeshi standards.
Step 5: A licensing fee is required once the certificate is issued, and it is calculated as follows: (0.1 percent of minimum production capacity) x (X factory price).
Step 6: After paying the fees the license can be obtained.
