The procedure for obtaining Fire License in Bangladesh is regulated by the Department of Fire Service and Civil Defence. The procedure for obtaining Fire License is as followed:
Step 1: Collect the Application Form from the Dhaka Head Office of Fire Service and Civil Defense.
Step 2: Fill out the form; for the Garments factory, it needs to add an additional form titled “Information: Garments Factory”.
Step 3: Submit the application with supporting documents.
Step 4: After submitting the application an inspection will be conducted by the Fire Service and Civil Defense’s (FS&CD) Inspector.
Step 5: A Demand Note is given following the inspection, detailing the fees that must be paid. Points of noncompliance are also highlighted, and the applicant is given the opportunity to resolve them. Fees should be placed in account number 1 – 2261 – 0000 – 2009.
Step 6: Sites will be checked again to ensure that any reported issues have been resolved and that firefighting equipment has been installed.
Step 7: After ensuring the Fire License will be issued.
Required documents:
- Attached copy of the Certification of Incorporation, Memorandum, and Articles of Association.
- Layout/Plan of Building.
- Valuation Certificate from Municipality/City Corporation/Union Parishad.
- Deed of agreements if rental space/property with rental receipt.
- No objection certificate from Commissioner of Plastic Industry.
- No objection Certificate by the local people if the R/A is used for the Plastic Factory/Industry.
Time Frame: the license will be obtained within 7 (Seven) days. However, delays can be caused due to failure to provide the Fire Fighting Equipment.
