What is the procedure for getting a VISA recommendation from BIDA?

The procedure of getting a recommendation for a visa is an online process through BIDA’s One-Stop Service (OSS) Portal. From the portal application for a visa, the recommendation has to be filled out with relevant information and submitted in the portal. There are no fees required.
Required documents:


For PI VISA:

  1. An application on the company’s letterhead pad
  2. Copy of project registration certificate with BIDA for industrial undertaking
  3. Copy of Memorandum and Articles of Association of the company
  4. Copy of incorporation certificate of the company
  5. Copy of trade license
  6. Copy of income tax certificate
  7. Passport sized photo of the expatriate
  8. Photocopy of expatriate’s full passport
  9. Board resolution for engaging the expatriate mentions salary/honorarium and other financial benefits
  10. Encashment certificate of inward remittance of minimum USD 50,000 as initial establishment cost for branch or liaison/representative office and locally incorporated company (if any).


For E2/E3 VISA:

  1. Copy of Memorandum and Articles of Association of the company
  2. Copy of incorporation certificate of the company
  3. Copy of trade license of the company
  4. Copy of tax clearance certificate of the company/branch office
  5. Passport-sized photo of the expatriate
  6. Photocopy of the expatriate’s full passport
  7. Board resolution for employment of the expatriate, mentioning salary and other financial benefits and intended period of employment
  8. Copy of offer/appointment letter, service contract, or transfer order of the expatriate
  9. Copy of all academic experience certificates of the expatriate
